Hunk palmKey West is frequently referred to as Bone Island. There are a variety of stories explaining how that originated, but none of those are important for this weekend. Some boosters in Key West are coordinating with local, gay-owned businesses to create another incredible weekend getaway for gay naturists, following the continued success of these semi-annual events, which started in December 2006.

About the host venue
Bourbon St. Pub, located at 724 Duval St., has made available its pool and garden bar area as clothing-optional and all-male for the weekend. The rest of the bar will be open to the public during the day, changing to a nude event (or clothing-optional “underwear party”) on Saturday at 10 PM until closing at 4 AM. Clothes check provided; bring only the cash you will need.

 

There is a limited amount of lodging on site at New Orleans House. For room reservations, call (888) 293-9893 or (305) 293-9800. If it fills up, referrals to other guesthouses will be offered. For further help with accommodations and local attractions, consult The Naked Concierge.

 

Key West is a very casual town, and even when you’re in an area open to the public, something as simple as a sarong or bathing suit is considered completely appropriate. Even for walking around town, to and from events, the dress code is very liberal. If you have never visited Key West, know that it is a very relaxed community with a live-and-let-live attitude.

Events pass
Save on individual cover charges and take advantage of discounts -- purchase an events pass for $49. (Separate payment for all events would total $145.) No longer available online, but may be purchased in person (cash only) at Bare It All events on Dec. 3 and Dec. 4 (afternoon only). Passes that were purchased online to be delivered to guesthouses and hotels on Dec. 3. (Those not staying at guesthouses or hotels may pick up their pass purchased online at event door.)

• 6 PM – ? Florida Keys Free Beaches monthly general meeting at east end of Smathers Beach (near airport). Not part of Bare It All, but posted here as a convenience. (Mixed, Clothed Event)

 

• 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM. World-famous drag queen, Sushi, hosts the wild drag show, featuring Kylie Jean, in the Cabaret (upstairs) at 801 Bourbon Bar, 801 Duval St. $10 cover, or free with events pass. (Clothed Event)

 

• 11 PM – 4 AM. Aqualicious Steam Dance Party with international DJ Julian Marsh at Aqua Nightclub, 711 Duval St. Dance in the steam or play in the maze. $10 cover, or free with events pass. Clothes check provided. (Nude Event)

• Noon – 5 PM. Manhunt pool party at Island House, 1129 Fleming St. Prizes, Jell-o shots, full access to all amenities (including a locker) through Sunday, 8 AM. $15 cover, or free with events pass. (Nude Event)

• 7 PM – ? Key West Holiday Parade kicks off on lower Truman Ave (US 1) and continues down Duval Street. Free. Not part of Bare It All, but posted here as a convenience. (Clothed Event)

• 10 PM – 4 AM. Key West Wreckers naked leather dance party with international DJ Julian Marsh at Bourbon St. Pub. Dance, foam, and star-watching from upper deck overlooking pool and patio. Mr. Naked Key West contest at midnight (visitors welcome to compete), with cash and other prizes. $15 cover, or free with events pass. Clothes check provided. (Nude Event)

• 10:15 AM (boarding time; lasts 4½ to 5 hours). Special Bone Island sailing adventure – Book online (select Bone Island, Dec. 6th) or call (305) 923-SAIL (-7245). Includes snorkeling (gear provided), kayaking, and swimming, lunch, and beverages. Mention Bone Island Bare It All Weekend for discounted fare of $75 (normally, $89) with events pass (must be presented upon boarding to validate discount). Additional info.
